Hifas Innovation Hub has been awarded the AITEX First Prize for Best Entrepreneurial Initiative 2025, recognizing its leadership in biotechnological innovation, applied mycology research, and the development of fungi-based solutions for human health, industry, and environmental sustainability.

The AITEX Business Awards recognize companies that enhance competitiveness through innovation, research, and sustainability. The ceremony, held in Alicante, brought together finalist companies and representatives from the industrial and scientific sectors. At the event, Claudia Fernández Mariña, team manager, and Salomé Barros, Innovation Funding Officer, represented Hifas Innovation Hub.
Although it was known that Hifas Innovation Hub would receive an award, excitement grew when it was announced that the company had won the First Prize among 33 national submissions in the entrepreneurship category. This award, with a prize of €15,000, highlights the importance of integrating science, sustainability, and biotechnology in high-impact business projects.
