Santiago holds a degree in organic chemistry from the University of Vigo in organic chemistry. In 2011, he presented his doctoral thesis to begin his career in the private industry. Over the next 10 years, he worked for companies in the pharmaceutical sector in companies such as Villapharma Research (working for companies like Janssen or Bayer), Galchimia (working for GlaxoSmithKline). During these years, he gained a global vision on drug discovery in all its phases.
